European Commission recognizes DIVERSE as European University Alliance, which includes Windesheim
The European Alliances Initiative, launched by the European Commission in 2017, aims to improve the international competitiveness of higher education on the continent. The DIVERSE alliance, integrated by twelve universities from eleven countries, has been working on student mobility and academic cooperation for four years. Now, the European Commission has recognized DIVERSE as a European University Alliance, consolidating its international projection and, in turn, that of Windesheim.
EU's strategy for higher education
This recognition is part of the EU's strategy for higher education, which currently has 65 partnerships involving more than 570 institutions out of a total of some 5.000 in Europe. In this way, Windesheim and the other members of the consortium join this small group of educational institutions that are part of the European Universities Initiative, which aims to generate a real impact at local and international level. Besides, the European Commission has awarded the Excellence Seal to DIVERSE, recognizing Windesheims commitment to internationalization. This award creates new opportunities for collaboration in higher education and research.
The alliance aims to create a multidisciplinary university campus that gathers more than 150.000 students and 15.000 educators and researchers, with the purpose of being a global leader in the science of entrepreneurship.
This partnership promotes the transformation of research results into products, services and processes that are useful to society, fosters the mobility of students and staff, and enhances the employability of graduates. In addition, this transnational network will allow students and teachers to access new training and research opportunities in a dynamic and globalized environment. Therefore, this consortium results in a tangible benefit both for Windesheim and the other participating institutions, as well as for society, through the creation of a new legal entity that reinforces the commitment of its members to educational excellence.
