Windesheim celebrates 10-year streak as runner-up in Keuzegids hbo rankings
For the tenth year in a row, Windesheim has secured the runner-up position in the Keuzegids hbo rankings for major universities of applied sciences.
Windesheim has once again claimed second place among major universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands, according to the newly published Keuzegids 2025. This positions us just behind Avans University of Applied Sciences, which maintains its first-place status, and slightly ahead of Zuyd University of Applied Sciences. Like last year, the differences are small. Our ten-year streak adds an extra layer of prestige to this achievement.
Executive Board President Inge Grimm: "This year, we are especially proud because it’s the tenth year in a row that we are celebrating this top ranking. It’s truly rewarding to be reconfirmed again that we are collectively doing a good job. Together, we are making strong progress in shaping personalized learning pathways, giving appropriate support and attention to each individual’s unique needs. That we are an inclusive school is also evident from the fact that the ECIO (Expert Centre on Inclusive Education) recently proclaimed Windesheim the best University of Applied Sciences for students with a support need for the seventh time."
Top programmes
Nine of Windesheim's Bachelor’s programmes have earned the prestigious 'Top Programme' designation, each scoring 75 points or higher. This is well above the national average for hbo programmes, which is a score of 60 points. In the ranking of Associate degrees (Ads), Windesheim is in seventh place.

The Engineering and ICT division leads with 67% of its programmes in the top-3, followed closely by the Business, Media, and Law division at 62%.
According to the Keuzegids, Windesheim continues to stand out with its excellent programmes in the economy and business sector. The Logistics Engineering programme (Engineering and Design) has the highest score (90 points) of all Windesheim programmes, just like last year (92).
