What do we want to know about you and why?
What do we want to know?
We want to do the best we can to help you find a study programme that suits you. This is good for you and good for us too. That's because your pleasure and success in your studies also motivate our lecturers and programmes. To be able to help you in the best possible way, we would like to receive and use some of your data.
If we know who you are, when you will be taking your exams and what study programmes you are considering, we can, for example, invite you to take part in matching activities at the right time. Or give you specific information and tips that are important for your choice.
And what if you no longer want to receive our information? Then you should know that you can unsubscribe at any time. That's a great idea! That way you are and will continue to be the owner of your data.
Even better
Windesheim wants to help prospective students, including you, with their choice of study programme. We want to know if we are doing a good job and if we can do even better. That's why we are using your data for broader analyses. We don’t look at you as an individual, but at the choices made by groups of (prospective) students. The results of our analyses serve as a basis for adapting our information and education marketing. We also do this by means of surveys after Open Days, for example. And sometimes we invite students for a focus group.

-
First and last name
We would like to be sure about the person we are dealing with. And we want to be able to call you by your name.
-
Date of birth
We ask for your date of birth because this, in combination with your full name, is unique. This enables us to check whether you are you and whether you have already applied for a Windesheim programme. This way, we want to avoid bothering you with information you no longer need after applying for a programme, as you have already made your choice of study programme.
-
Email address
We would like to give you the right information at the right time to help you with your study choice. If you give us your email address, we can, for example, send you invitations by email to Open Days or to join us as a Student for a Day. Would you like us to stop sending you targeted emails? You can unsubscribe at the bottom of any mail message. If you have signed up for our newsletter with study tips and tricks, you can also unsubscribe at the bottom of those mailings.
-
Level of education/ prior education
We ask this because we know that the orientation and selection process is different for HAVO students, VWO students and MBO students. If we know your prior education, we can approach you more specifically with useful information for your selection process.
-
Final examination year
We notice that students from pre-exam classes often find other information useful than students taking their final exams. To ensure that the information we send you matches your study selection phase as closely as possible and to avoid bothering you with information not yet relevant to you, we would like to know when you will be taking your final exams.
-
Study programmes of interest
If we know about your interest in certain study programmes, we can provide you with more appropriate information and avoid bothering you with information not (yet) relevant to you. That's why we ask you to tell us about your interest in certain programmes, so we can send you the right brochures, invite you as a Student for a Day or for an Open Day visit etc.
-
Address and residence
We ask for your address and place of residence in order to be able to inform you about any matching activities by post. Sometimes we send a card as a reminder of an Open Day. Usually we send an email.
-
Phone number
In some cases, we would like to know your telephone number because it may be a good idea to speak to you. For example, if we need to reach you quickly because you have signed up as a Student for a Day and there's a last-minute change in the schedule. It is also possible that we want to check with you after your visit as a Student for a Day if you still have any questions. We will usually contact you by email.
-
School name and town/city
We would like to know where you go to school. This may be useful to inform you about the matching activities at your school. And to be able to contact the deans of your school about participation of (groups of) pupils in matching activities at Windesheim.
