Windesheim runner-up in both Keuzegids Hbo and Elsevier Ranking
Windesheim University of Applied Sciences ranks second in the surveys of Keuzegids Hbo and Elsevier Weekblad on the quality of higher professional education (hbo) programmes in the Netherlands.
While Windesheim rises from third to second place in the Elsevier ranking, it now occupies this high position in the Keuzegids Hbo for the fourth consecutive year. ‘It reminds me of our Dutch cyclist Tom Dumoulin, runner-up in this year’s Giro d’Italia and Tour de France’, says Henk Hagoort, Windesheim’s Executive Board President. 'Although second place may feel a bit like second best, it’s still a major achievement. And it makes me very proud of all Windesheim lecturers and staff, who’ve done their very best to make our students feel at home at Windesheim and be the best they can be. Seeing this reflected in such positive assessments by our students is a nice reminder of the reason why we’re doing it all.'
Keuzegids Hbo: Second Place and Six ‘Top Programmes’
Windesheim scores 65 points in the Keuzegids Hbo, which makes it the runner-up among major universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands, just like last year. Number one Avans and Windesheim are the only major universities of applied sciences getting a three-star rating (out of five). Also, Keuzegids Hbo awards six Windesheim degree programmes its ‘top programme’ accolade for scoring 76 points or higher. In Zwolle these are the programmes of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Psychomotor Therapy/Psychomotricity and the teacher training programmes in Chemistry and Physical Education and in Almere it’s the Marketing degree programme.
Twelve Windesheim programmes take first place in the national rankings of similar degree programmes. In Zwolle these are the programmes of teacher training in Physical Education and Chemistry, Psychomotor Therapy/Psychomotricity, Global Project and Change Management, Applied Gerontology, Logistics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Architecture and Construction Engineering and in Almere Marketing, Engineering, HBO-ICT and Spatial Development – Traffic and Transport Management.
Elsevier: High Student Satisfaction
Elsevier Magazine’s annual ‘Best degree programmes’ survey shows that Windesheim students are very satisfied about their programmes. 46 out of 50 Windesheim programmes included in the survey receive scores at or above the national average. This makes Windesheim the runner-up in the category of major universities of applied sciences.
